This tribute came in the form of a framed certificate of the State of Michigan and personally signed by the Governor and other State Officials.
LET IT BE KNOWN THAT it is with deep respect, admiration and sadness that we offer our highest tribute as a memorial for the life of Pablo R. Lopez Sr. On behalf of the great State of Michigan, we extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends and community. This loss has saddened all who had the good fortune of knowing him during his lifelong service to the community.
Pablo was a dedicated activist, proud veteran of the United States Air Force, and a friend to all who knew him. After growing up as a farm laborer, Pablo became a champion of worker's rights and dedicated himself promoting the work of Cesar Chavez, with whom he had marched and rallied. He retired from Buick and was an active member of U.A.W. Local 599. Like his hero Cesar Chavez, Pablo dedicated his activism to lifting up others and supporting fellow veterans, farm workers, auto workers and members of his beloved church, Our Lady of Guadalupe.
IN MEMORIAL TRIBUTE, THEREFORE, This document is signed and dedicated to offer our words of praise as a memorial for Pablo R. Lopez Sr. May his family find comfort in their faith and their memories of this fine man and selfless activism.
